If you happen to have a free or cheap source of old cast iron radiators then that's great but it's difficult to tell how corroded they could be inside, even with pressure testing.
Modern reproductions of column radiators are almost as efficient as the ubiquitous slimline radiators we're all used to. On top of this, the fittings are of current standard amd come with a manufacturer's warranty.
