It's always inconvenient when your boiler breaks down but it doesn't always mean a replacement is needed.
There can be many reasons for a boiler breakdown and often you'll see an error code. When the boiler just won't switch on though, it's more often than not an electrical fault.
This was the case with a Baxi boiler in Basford where we soon tracked it down to a faulty PCB which we replaced. The thermostat was also playing up so that was also replaced. After the usual checks and and some efficiency adjustments, the boiler was back up and running.
With regular servicing it should keep going for quite a few years yet.
