This boiler has been regularly serviced so didn't need to be fully replaced but the thermostat had given up
There are some things you can't account for and the reason for this PCB and thermostat failing, could have been down to a power surge or perhaps a bit of damp / moisture creeping in. Whatever the reason, there's no point trying to diagnose individual components so having checked that all the other parts were in good working order, we replaced both the thermostat and main PCB.
All fixed, serviced and up and running.
